In his incredible 30 year (1985-2015) tenure at Minnesota Morris, Fohl influenced thousands of lives through his roles as an assistant football coach, head baseball coach, head golf coach, and director of athletics. As the athletic director, Fohl oversaw immense change within Cougar Athletics including the transition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and Division III and membership into the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Four Cougar teams earned trips to the NCAA National Tournament and Cougar student-athletes continued to improve both in the classroom and on the field of competition with Fohl at the helm of the athletic department. Minnesota Morris facilities also underwent change in his tenure, most notably the addition of Big Cat Stadium and the soccer field.
