Tom Beyer '81 became the first national champion in school history with his NCAA Division III wrestling title at 167 pounds in 1979. Along with his national title in '79, Beyer recorded a second-place finish in '81 and a fourth-place finish in '80. He was also a three-time Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champion (1978, '80 & '81).
