Pat and Jim Tanner were long time volunteers in basketball operations for the athletic department. The pair also served on the Cougar Hall of Fame Committee for several years. Jim also aided in football game day operations.
 
Pat began typing play-by-play for men's basketball when the P.E. Center first opened up. She would later move to the scoring table and operated the possession arrow, relayed foul information, and assisted with the official book. She also served as the Executive Secretary to the Chancellor for 30 years.
 
Jim started assisting the football game day operations in 1972, running the game clock for home games. He started helping with basketball the year the P.E. Center opened up and helped out for 31 years. He would also help out with several high school events held in the P.E. Center.
